Eric Stone Campaign

June 17th - 23rd

Into the under caverns:

With the plan in place the group re-enters the caverns below. Maestro, Born and Monet decide to press on in a different direction this time, and follow a cavern to a majestic hall but there further progress is blocked by a cave-in. As the group continues to search they find a new room, entering they disturb a group of skeletal guards and awake a giant undead serpent. The battle is brief but fierce, the group manages to secure the room but a thrall and other undead have retreated and the group does not have much more time to decide what to do. A quick search of the trash heap collected by the serpent. uncovers a short sword of intricate design and by it preservation suspected magic properties.

The group retreats to the safety above. Rudolf speaks with GalDesh and Horath Bal about what they may be looking for. When Horath hears that they found the fine hall he indicates that the fire pool would be in the opposite direction some where in the caverns.

While everyone is resting and healing Monet meets with Banark Tithon of the Kings Citadel, to discuss sponsorship. Banarak grants Monet's gift of 4 vials of holly water to fight the undead below. Jamia seems pleased that the meeting with Banarak went well.

Meanwhile Rudolf continues his training in the ways of Onatair the creator god. Bjorn is busy using his blessing from the holy pool to build a tower shield.

The Next expedition down into the caverns has the group well equipped. The group sold the magic sword recovered in the last trip and used the proceeds to buy real armor and weapons. GalDesh is impressed as he sends the seasoned soldiers into the battle below. But this time the adventures are met by a well prepared defense. As they face combat in the front they notice a fog cloud roiling down the hall towards them from behind. As they prepare to retreat a wall of fire springs up to block their exit. With undead in-front and a Vampire with a pair of thralls behind the party decides to negotiate. ValKarak the vampire of the caverns is a tall narrow shouldered hob-goblin and he is now fully awake and aware of the groups recent activities. ValKarak is interested in trading access to the caverns to his freedom from them. If the group can grant him safe access out of the caverns he will vacate the catacombs and allow the group to take whatever they wish.

The group agrees. Rudolf notifies Horath Bal who assures him that he can take care of the vampire once it is out of the catacombs. Relieved that he will not be releasing untold evil into the city of sharn Rudolf agrees and begins to make plans for the release. In the meantime Monet reports back to Banarak about the proposed release. With the new information the commander of the Kings Citital of the City of Sharn, and winner of the tournament of blades indicates that he will have his men prepared for the event. A few dask will simply break when they see a troop of the citadel guard and a few squads of City Watch. All will be taken care of. Tomorrow will see.

In the intervening time Stone and Haven have continued to make progress on the formula and incantations needed to imprint a Kyber Mark on a willing supplicant at the alter of the wanderer in the Crypt of Haydron of Sharn
