Resend Go East Old Man for...

Written June 10, 2007 http://pages.sbcglobal.net/lbiundo/index.html John’s bus

The Trip……..Go East, Old Man Go East…Ollie Is Waiting...The Fourth Of July, Hot Dogs, Beer, Debra, the hobie up ended, the seagulls spewling down a smoke screen on a lazy July morning as we put to the banks for another effort to catch breakfast.. The Boys…Tales To Tell, Exaggerations…….things to do

Dilbert has it right: "THERE'S NO POINT IN HAVING A STRATEGY IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO PRETEND TO FOLLOW IT."

I have shed my old nose and have a new one. Pic later. Today is Friday…5 am. Heading back to San Luis Obispo to feed the pig

I bought 5 lbs of carrots…Debra thought I should go to wine country. I would rather make friends with a pig….so that is the plan.

There is a limit to this wandering thing.

Looks like Rt. 50 “ the lonliest highway” is a good direct route back…drive hard for two/three days get back to the Rockies.

Then coast downhill all the way home….

June 11, 2007 SLO – A MONDAY -

--------------------------

Goodwill sells clothes by the pound and has a bin of treasures if you can dig them out. And a kick ass location if you look above the parking lot.

Thought I would be conjuice ( ask Me) and went to McDonalds for this work and a belly buster. Well I got the belly buster, but the internet was $ 3.00…what marketing dummies...I got on the bike and rode to the Bean and got on line for a few hours and an obligatory cup of green tea for $ 1.75. Lifted lots of salt and pepper for my onboard salt shaker from Mr. Mac….but not even yet.

Cole found me and invited me to his shop where he part time pains surfboards….see Pics, I traded his shirt for a New good will one, took it to Kendra’s and gave it its first wash in three years…..see Pic.

Family lunch at Aplebeees.

Then I spent the rest of the day (5 hours) bird watching……not done yet more pictures tomorrow.

REPAIRS ON THE HELMET…FRENCH Army Issue. Bought new 6 years ago.

When asked, which is frequently, I tell HOG ( HARLEY ) owners it will stop an AK 47 round…French Foreign Legion…they have never seen another like it….the person who wears out their toys……..wins. Corollary: Use it up; wear it out or do without.

SLO…and a slow day. Got Karl’s message that I screwed up.

Will resend files tomorrow am from the BEAN. SLO seems like a home now and I am eager to go east…Debra comes Thursday….tomorrow is a shore leave day except for dinner.

Kendra cooked a great meal…..chicken and pineapple, salad,

It is 7:30 pm…watching the guys who pound on each other…..pay must be good…working conditions are appalling…opened a Miller quart.

Today started with 3 hours at the Bean catching up on NETCONN correspondence…One of the projects is doing well…groundbreaking… So I need to go to the Goodwill and find a shovel I can paint silver...guess I will be there this summer…good people.

I wanted to grow a beard…not shave…but Kendra insisted “ I look like a bum” so Friday it will be removed after I Tell Debra I won’t shave it off for anybody. Take bets she reads this?

Was at Kendra’s doing urgent mail and by Googling Karl Ackerman you get his website….and this stuff….amazing. And Debra sent Pick of My pumpkin plant…hoping for a 500 pounder…if you have kids do it ATLANTIC GIANT. a few bucks for a lifetime of memories…ALMOST TOO LATE FOR THIS YEAR.

Back to the day…..finished up at the bean and went to the goodwill mega store I told you about…..There as a crowd at the door….like a sale at the big box for Christmas stuff…by the time I took a pic...they were in and rummaging thru every barrel and box….I asked the clerk and he said they grab stuff for yard sales and swap meets…another facet of our economy..Like India a niche in the environment for everyone who wishes to participate in our non-Darwinian economy.

Got Kristin her trophy for delivery later, and a little man for marks shed….another tee shirt and a high end Sweatshirt for Debra…( new and in the Box honey) …she is bringing her “ hat” and gloves and boots..So we will two up on Rt 1 at least to Seal Beach. ½ the beer gone.

Brought the treasure back…..Fond a box in Mark’s trash…loaded it up with stuff, taped it up…gathered up dirty stuff. Off to Kendra…dropped laundry and went to the post office to mail the collection of stuff…when I get home it is like a Christmas…I forget what I send. $ 7.54.

Stopped at Albertson’s…2 lb cherries. Two qts Millers, bread, horseradish, tomatoes, an onion, and Salami…..preparation for an afternoon of Bird watching.

Got home…….prepared two Dagwood’s, took them, my tin cup, camera and a quart of beer to the bird watching area…..watched all afternoon.

I guess the chicken is just not ripe enough …tomorrow will be the day

I will try to do a better job with the pictures…

June 13th a Wednesday …

--------------------------

written next day

Not much to say….went to the GOODWILL again…their clerk said the same people come every day and sometimes spend the day foraging for their garage sales….perpetual garage sales.

Got my gas can, but can’t use it…

Picking up Debra at 1:30…..going to Pismo beach…The rest of this week and most of next is family stuff so likely I won’t write a daily journal. Balance is required in life

However I will scribe my reflections on Cherry Pits,

Motorcycle

tires

...And my three day Bird watching experience….or were they watching me??

Anxious to go east on the loneliest road in the world.
