Bird Watching

Bird watching…..Monday- Wednesday afternoons June 11- 13.
Written Thursday 21 June 21, 2007, waiting to go to the wedding.
Mark abuts grassland...A ranch….owned by the Magdelena’s?
the same people who own the restaurant where the men’s room is a treat...more later in June 20 Notes.
I went to Albertson’s and got a Chicken…they don’t sell them but the manager went to the BBQ section and wrapped one up…..5 bucks.
Bought beer and 2 lbs cherries….
That afternoon set up shop……placed the bird. Mark said it needed to ripen, but day one I got a Nibble……. And polished off the beer and cherries…..day 2 nothing but a much riper chicken. We stashed it on his property under a big Pot….away from Conan…who is a vegetarian by lack of alternatives….fed from an auto feeder.
Day three…demolished the bird…shadows of predators ( I guess predators only eat live prey…but the bait was crawling with fly blown meat.

The Pics tell the rest of the story……3 quarts of beer, cherries and crackers plus one chicken….16 hours of joy. The field was picked clean and they were able to cut the big thigh bones in half…
Got a good burn…in my shorts.
